| No edition of The Big Bang would be complete without a puzzle or trick, so here's the first one from the new series.
All you'll need are two oranges - one peeled, one unpeeled - and a tank of water.
| The challenge is to both float oranges in the tank of water.
If you give it a try, you'll see that - perhaps surprisingly - the unpeeled orange floats, whilst the peeled one doesn't.
| Why not try balancing one on top of the other?
No, that doesn't work either!
| The solution is quite easy!
Peel the first orange carefully, so that half of the peel comes off.
| Pop the orange that has half a peel into the tank and - fingers crossed - it will float.
| The already-peeled orange will fit into the half of peel that you've just made. Pop that into the tank and, with a bit of luck, that too will float!
| The peel of the orange is designed to protect the fruit. It's cushiony and spongy, and contains a lot of air. It's less dense than water.
