Jaq is rebellious and wild; hot-headed and blinkered. She hates being told what to do – resenting any authority. Their parents were killed in a tragic accident and now they get bossed around by people who know nothing about them. Jaq is angry, and this means she doesn’t make friends easily. She claims she doesn’t want them anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Of course, that’s a lie.
She rarely shouts – allowing her wit and barbed observations to do all the talking.
Jessica Woods thinks she is quite similar to her character Jaq:
“We both get stroppy sometimes, and I looked after the kids quite a bit during shooting. Jaq’s individual and likes to stand out. She’s the mother figure and is the one who sorts out the problems – or tries!”
“We definitely don’t have the same dress sense though – I prefer River Island and Topshop whereas Jaq gets all her clothes from a place called ‘Indie Chick’. She likes bright, crazy clothes, whereas I tend lounge around in my Man United kit.”
